Scott Claussen has spent over 20 years operating, buying, and selling companies. His diverse business background includes private equity across a variety of industries.
In 1995, Scott founded and was President of the largest specialty juice concept in Central Florida with over 65 employees. Scott raised several million dollars in multiple private placements including both debt and equity offerings during his tenure. He successfully sold the company in 2001 and joined the private client group of United Bank of Switzerland as a portfolio manager, managing the financial affairs of high net worth individuals and institutions. He later joined Belvedere Group, a boutique investment management firm and hedge fund, where he co-managed a 70+ million dollar portfolio which invested in businesses abroad.
In 2004 Scott later a national business brokerage and mergers & acquisitions firm where he became a Top Dealmaker in Northern California. He has a passion for working with companies and helping them realize their strategic objectives. Scott has one of the highest closing ratios in the business brokerage industry. He has been involved in some of the most complex transactions where he has been able to successfully structure winning solutions for buyers and sellers. Scott clearly understands the challenges of being a business owner, buyer and seller.
Scott graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Finance. He holds the highly recognized Certified Mergers & Acquisitions Intermediary (CMAI), Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation through the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) & M&A Source. He has earned a Certified Business Broker (CBB) designation through the California Association of Business Brokers (CABB). Scott holds a Real Estate Broker’s license through the Bureau of Real Estate.
In additional to his professional successes Scott’s background includes windsurfing, martial arts, ski racing and triathlons. As an Ironman triathlete Scott competed in the toughest Ironman in the world “Ironman Tahoe”.
Scott’s ability to persevere during the toughest and most challenging deals is second to none.
C. Fred Hall, III, MBA, CBA, CVA
Fred Hall received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business from U.C. Berkeley and his MBA from San Diego State. In 2004 he pursued an education with the IBA (Institute of Business Appraisers) and earned the coveted CBA certification (Certified Business Appraiser). He also holds a CVA certification with the NACVA, the largest business appraisal association.
Fred is the CEO and sole owner of Amador Appraisals and Acquisitions, Inc. During the last 15 years he has written business valuations for over 700 companies. Fred has regularly presented lectures and webinars on business valuation techniques to a number of professional organizations in California. Fred has been invited to present seminars on valuation methodologies at a number of conferences held by various national organizations: 1) the Annual Murphy Business and Financial Convention in Florida, 2) the annual NACVA Appraisers’ Conference in San Diego, 3) the annual New York Society of CPA’s Conference on Wall Street, and 4) the Financial Consultant’s Super Conference in Las Vegas. My appraisal research has been published in: 1) IBA’s quarterly journal, the “Business Appraisal Practice,” 2) Business Valuation Resource’s quarterly, the “Business Valuation Update,” 3) Thomson-Reuter’s quarterly journal, the “Valuation Strategies,” and, 4) NACVA’s quarterly, “The Value Examiner.”
Fred has written over 100 appraisals involving marriage dissolutions and partnership breakups which often required presenting and defending the findings to both parties and their attorneys. Over 75 of his appraisals were for a number of SBA Banks for their loan applicants. Those banks include: Bank of the West, Plumas Bank, Northern Nevada Bank, Temecula Bank, Comerica, Bridge Bank, River City Bank, Five Star Bank, First Community Bank, Umpqua Bank, Rabobank, and Cornerstone Community Bank.
